Grace Bailey is a prophetic artist on a mission! Ministering out of her home church in Ballarat, Victoria (Australia) and at a variety of conferences, she has set herself a goal of 52 Weeks of Prophetic Art. Yes! 52 weeks of live painting during worship! What an amazing goal and ministry. I have been following her since I first found her last Spring on her Facebook page and have been deeply blessed by the artwork she is painting. You can also follow her journey here on her website.
The painting on your right is “Valley of Dry Bones? Ha! piece of Cake!”
Won’t you take a moment to consider? What are the dry bones in your life? Are they dreams and visions that seem to have died? Are they broken, wounded places in your spirit? Are they mistakes from your past that still fill you with shame? While you examine this painting, won’t you slowly and prayerfully read this prophetic prayer adapted from Ezekiel 37 with me and other fellow artists praying this prayer with us today?
There’s quite a bit to explore today so I’m sending you right over to Re:think Worship today to check out Creative ideas for Advent with all kinds of ideas for your worship services or ministry!
Looking to add creativity to your Advent Candle lighting in your church services?
Looking to get your worshipers more involved in the Advent Lighting instead of just watching from their pews?
Sending you over the Still Waters blog again where Pastor Theresa’s Advent Candle Lighting post has great ideas to make it more interactive and creative! She has two different ideas with pictures, supply lists and instructions so you can see exactly how to duplicate it for your own church or ministry event. Check it out today!
National Book Month is winding down! And we have THREE books—all for artists and creatives in church ministry! I know many creatives feel like the church has let them down, but these books help artists AND pastors walk through the process of starting a worship arts ministry together. All three make a strong case for the use of arts in our churches. Here they are and what others are saying about them!
In addition to many songs to his credit, he has written more than a half dozen books on worship, including The Unquenchable Worshipper and Face Down. You can explore his book offerings on his website at www.mattredman.com. There are excerpts of all books available to read there so you can preview them before you decide to buy.
We began Create-A-Day postings with Rory Noland, author of Heart of the Artist, way back in January with our very first edition!
In addition to Heart of the Artist, Noland has several more books for artists and worshipers:
His newest book is Worship on Earth as it is in Heaven: Exploring Worship as a Spiritual Discipline. It explores both private and corporate worship. Want to go deeper in your worship? Then this is a great choice!
Experiential Worship: Encountering God with Heart, Soul, Mind & Strength by Bob Rognlien is a must-read for pastors, worship leaders and creative arts ministry leaders and its companion book, The Experiential Worshiper: Giving Yourself More Completely to God, a must-read for all others! As a worship leader myself, this book has been foundational to the way I do ministry!
If you’re looking for a conference to attend, then let me suggest a few coming up before the end of the year:
Morning Star Wild Love Worship Conference, August 27-29 in Fort Mill, SC. Details at: morningstarministries.org.

Worship band a little sparse on keyboard, piano, and /or synth? I’ve struggled with this very problem as a worship leader until I discovered Worship Pad Loops by Shalon Palmer.
Pad loops provide ambient noise in the key that matches the songs you’re playing and fills in empty space with beautiful sound.
Files download right onto your phone or mp3 player and then can be routed through your sound system. I have used them in a variety of settings including a large cavernous church and a small retreat setting. Works well in many settings!
Skeptical? There’s a sample in the key of A so grab your guitar and play your favorite song in A right along with it to hear how it sounds! And enjoy your worship time with Jesus as you do!
Have you always wanted to play the piano or keyboard at church or for your own personal times of worship? Had trouble fitting lessons into your busy schedule? Perhaps traditional piano lessons have left you frustrated? Well, I’ve got a possible solution for you!
This is my friend Dr. Ron Sprunger and this is his creative offering called How 2 Play By Ear. Check out the site for a quick summary and sampling of Dr. Sprunger’s program to help you learn to play the piano or keyboard by ear.
It’s another Facebook Friday!
Praise Dancers for God is a great place to network with other dancers and see what other folks are doing in the worship arts. People post links to workshops and seminars happening in the arts and dance! Another great place to network with like-minded worshipers!
Looking to improve your guitar playing or drumming? Looking to learn? Looking to equip your worship team? Worship Artistry provides online worship guitar and drum lessons to help you master today’s top Christian worship songs – with new songs being added weekly – all from the convenience of your computer, smartphone or tablet.
Dr. Pamela Hardy created the Eagles International Training Institute to mentor and train leaders of worship art ministries around the world. Below is Pamela ministering through dance with Yvonne Peters to Grace Flows Down. You’ll notice about 4:13 in, the music switches from the recording to live music by the event’s worship team. It’s obvious that the Holy Spirit’s healing power and anointing was flowing and the participants did NOT want to leave the beauty of the moment:
