Grace Bailey is a prophetic artist on a mission! Ministering out of her home church in Ballarat, Victoria (Australia) and at a variety of conferences, she has set herself a goal of 52 Weeks of Prophetic Art. Yes! 52 weeks of live painting during worship! What an amazing goal and ministry. I have been following her since I first found her last Spring on her Facebook page and have been deeply blessed by the artwork she is painting. You can also follow her journey here on her website.
The painting on your right is “Valley of Dry Bones? Ha! piece of Cake!”
Won’t you take a moment to consider? What are the dry bones in your life? Are they dreams and visions that seem to have died? Are they broken, wounded places in your spirit? Are they mistakes from your past that still fill you with shame? While you examine this painting, won’t you slowly and prayerfully read this prophetic prayer adapted from Ezekiel 37 with me and other fellow artists praying this prayer with us today?
Lord, you ask me, “Can these bones live?” And I answer, “O Lord God, you know.”
And then you command me to prophesy over these bones, so I say to them as you command, “O dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. Thus says the Lord God to these bones: Behold, I will cause breath to enter you, and you shall live. And I will lay sinews upon you, and will cause flesh to come upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and you shall live, and you shall know that I am the Lord.”
And now behold! I hear a rattling! The sound of bones coming together, bone to its bone. And I look and behold! I see sinews on them, and flesh coming upon them, and skin covering them.
But still there is no breath in them.
So you say to me, “Prophesy to the breath; prophesy, son and daughter of man, and say to the breath, Thus says the Lord God: Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” And as you command me, I prophesy! And the breath comes into them, and they live and stand on their feet, an exceedingly great army!
Lord, these bones are our lost hopes and dreams, our wounds and the broken pieces of our hearts. They are dried up, and our hope is lost; we are indeed cut off.
And the Lord God replies: “Behold, I will open your graves and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will bring you into the land of hope and promise. And you will know that I am the Lord, when I open your graves, and raise you from your graves, O my people. And I will put my Spirit within you, and you shall live, and I will place you in your own land. Then you shall know that I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it, declares the Lord.”
Then I ask you, “Lord, can these bones live?” and you gently answer, “O my child, you know.”
Lord God, help us know.
I encourage you to follow Grace on her journey. You will be blessed. You can also connect with Grace on her website here and watch a video of her live in action here. There is also a time lapse video of her painting on her Facebook page.
Thank you Grace for your powerful ministry and for helping lead this army of artists into all that God has for us as his children!!
Blessings of ARTistry, CREATivity & BEaUty, Jody
