Create-A-Day: your daily dose of creativity #129 — Free Indeed!

The Korean War Veterans Memorial in Washington DC makes this powerful statement:

Freedom is not free.

Take a moment, look at these images, and consider the cost.

Count the Cost

What did your freedom cost the young man above?

Natnl Cem

What did your freedom cost the men, the women, the families represented by the more than 285,000 headstones at Arlington National Cemetery?

From the American Revolution to the current situation in the Middle East, have you considered the cost paid for your freedom?

Don’t ever forget!

And don’t forget the cost paid by Jesus Christ as he took your sin to the cross and was buried in the tomb.

“You will know the truth and the truth will set you free.”  ~Jn 8:32

“Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and that you are not your own? For you have been bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body.” ~I Cor 6:19-20

“I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Return to me, for I have redeemed you.” ~Is 44:22

“For you know that it was not with perishable things such as silver or gold that you were redeemed from the empty way of life handed down to you from your ancestors.” ~I Pet 1:18

Freedom is indeed NOT free! And the freedom we have through Jesus Christ is a freedom that extends to all men and women, from every nation and land!

And they sang a new song, saying: “You are worthy to take the scroll and to open its seals, because you were slain, and with your blood you purchased for God persons from every tribe and language and people and nation.” ~Rev 5:9

“So if the Son has set you free, you are FREE INDEED?” ~Jn 8:36

Walk in your freedom this weekend as you celebrate our nation’s Independence Day!

dockThis is the last post this week. Enjoy some time tomorrow with family and friends. With any luck I’ll be pushing off the end of my dock on a paddle board with my dog Kobe! Praising God for my freedom!

Blessings of ARTistry, CREATivity & BEaUty, Jody
