For today’s edition of Kintsugi of the Soul, I’m directing you to UpliftTV to watch a short 7-minute movie called Enough. (It is a free movie; however, you do have to register with UpliftTV in order to have access to it.) The movie is about Beatrice Nyariara, who lives in Korogocho, one of Nairobi’s most dangerous slums, where elderly women are attacked, raped, and sometimes even beheaded and thrown in the river.

One of the most touching parts of this short movie was when Beatrice talked about lifting up their voices to safeguard their community and how they refused to live under shame anymore! I love how TOGETHER they are letting their trUe BEaUty shine through!

Kintsugi of the Soul is a year-long project celebrating the release of The Creator’s Healing Power—Restoring the Broken to Beautiful and seeks to share creative resources, personal testimonies and redemptive stories aimed at healing, restoration and wholeness. Pictured above, kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with a lacquer mixed with powdered gold. When an object is broken, rather than discarding the damaged and broken, the pieces are mended, and cracks are filled with precious metal and, in many ways, make the object more beautiful than it was at the start.
