We spent the first week of February looking at journaling through expressive writing. This week’s creative resources are all about Artist’s Journals and Art Journaling! If you’ve had difficultly with writing journals, perhaps this idea is better suited for your personality? Great for creative spirits of all art forms, mediums and genres, and you do not have to be an artist to benefit creatively and spiritually from this practice!
Today’s link is loaded with lots of great ideas and tips for art journals. It also describes the writer’s own thoughts on what she believes are the differences between art journals and artist’s journals. Depending on your creative bent, one may be more beneficial than another. Either way, I know this posting will inspire creativity in you!!
There’s also great info on gesso—what it is and how to use it as an artist.

Now that is different and good resources to show us how to proceed. Good post, Jody.
That is a fascinating idea – to have an art journal. Makes total sense – I just never thought of it before. My daughter would love this! For me, I am a wordsmith myself. 🙂
Hmm. I was here! nonetheless, this is a terrific opportunity. I tried this once, just a one time thing. But this will spur me to try again. Thanks Jody! I want to follow this set!
Thank you for sharing resources. I’m more a writing person, but this is a great idea for others more artistic than myself.
Thanks for visiting! For writers like you. I posted a whole week worth of resources for expressive writing and journaling at the beginning of the month. You can start her and work your way back for resources all about writing! 🙂
