Create-A-Day: your daily dose of creativity #106 — Fun in Your Creativity

Standard

Conducting1From the lips of children and infants you, Lord, have called forth your praise! (Matt 21:16)

When I first saw this video I was first struck by this boy’s exuberance, then by his uncanny metronome-like sense of meter and timing, and then by his knowledge of this intricate piece of music. And then, of course, on the shear fun and laughter of it all! He is filled with energy and life as he conducts his imaginary orchestra! He captures the nuances of the dynamics of the song as it swells and collapses back down to near silence!

When was the last time you conducted an imaginary orchestra? Or danced in a wide open field? Or painted a crazy painting of a bright yellow duckling with red rubber goulashes? Or played your electric guitar “Slash-style” until the neighbors couldn’t take it?

Conducting2When was the last time you enjoyed your art or creative process? Really had fun with it? You need to do that every once in awhile—just to keep yourself alive and free and child-like. Even if you have to stop and pick your nose in the middle of it. 😉

Blessings of ARTistry, CREATivity & BEaUty, Jody

  1. Oh, tears of JOY! I delight in this little boy’s fully embodied attentiveness, passion and abandon to the music. I remember seeing the video a few years back, and interestingly enough was just telling my sister-in-law about it last weekend. Thanks, Jody, for the reminder to send it on to her!
