CaraMayan was developed by my friend Mary Jones, founder of International Christian Dance Fellowship. CaraMayan is a way of combining simple movement with scripture. This way of moving is sometimes called “embodied prayer,” and I’ll post more about that subject in the future. CaraMayan is very calming and meditative in nature and a great way to help you memorize scripture as the movement often helps the words become more a part of your being.
This is an example to the Lord’s Prayer. Won’t you try standing and moving with it? It is simple and you do not have to be a dancer to do it. Just give it a try!

I couldn’t find a place to comment, ah great I found it, This is something I do too, moving to scripture, and I love the Mary and Martha dance, it really told the story,
I love your blog very interesting,
🙂
Thank you! If you can find the “Creative Resources” tab on your left, it has a drop-down menu with dance and embodied prayer where you can find all my posts related to that area of the arts. Lots of dances posted. This is one of my favorites – a danced prophetic word: https://jodythomae.com/2015/01/14/create-a-day-your-daily-dose-of-creativity-edition-9/
